On Marlon Wayans’s official Instagram page, he officially confirmed a Scary Movie reboot with Miramax and Paramount.
For those who dont know, the Wayans brothers were the ones that started the comedy franchise back in 1999. But after the first successful 2 movies, the franchise was stolen from the brothers and went on to perform very poorly as far as the box office without the brothers involved in the sequels. The last Scary Movie in 2013 completely bombed.
Hopefully with all the new horror movie villians like Art the Clown or the Nun, lets see what kind of comedy they will give us.
As you might recall, Marlon Wayans went on to do his own separate horror comedy type sequel called “A Haunted House” which actually did very well in theaters. Its only right they get their franchise back.
