Just another reason to call California Governor Gavin Newsome out of touch, he recently purchased a $9.1 million mansion in Marin County, which is just north of San Francisco in the Kentfield neighborhood. He also has a $3 million dollar home in Fair Oaks, California which is in Sacramento County. Just for reference, his salary as California Governor is a little over $200,000.
Many are calling Gavin Newsome out of touch because while many people can barely pay their rent, he’s purchasing multi-million dollar homes and sending his kids to costly private schools, which cost each child $60,000 a year. Many are wondering where all this money is coming from since his salary isn’t in the millions. Some are saying it’s past investments that he started when he was younger but the way he handles California’s budget, you can only wonder how he’s able to budget his own money.
The homeless problem is the worst in California compared to other parts of the country. During Covid, Gavin also shut the state down leading to businesses permanently closing. He also listed a mask mandate rule, which he didn’t follow but forced everyone else to. Many hospital workers were also sadly terminated from their jobs because they didn’t want to be forced to take a new trial Covid vaccine.
If you compare Gavin to the previous California Governor, Jerry Brown, Gavin looks like the devil. He feels like he’s a celebrity by going on talk shows, visiting foreign leaders, and living in expensive neighborhoods. Jerry Brown never did anything like that, and sometimes he would sleep in the State Capitol because there was so much work to be done and the state flourished because of him. Even now, Jerry Brown is very critical of Gavin Newsom’s handling of the state.
Rumor has it that Gavin wants to run for President in 2028. Will he make it past the primaries? Who knows. But the way is he running California and playing with people’s lives, he should not be anywhere in public office.
